Gratitude
(From my point of view, for you it could be different)
As Merriam-Webster defines it, gratitude is “the state of being grateful, involving an appreciation of what is valuable and meaningful to oneself. It is an emotion and a conscious practice of recognizing the goodness in life and acknowledging external sources for the positive outcomes we experience.”
Over the past three years, I have spent a great deal of time reflecting on the many things I should embrace with gratitude. When we focus on our struggles, setbacks, and disappointments, it can become easy to give them all of our attention. However, I have learned that it is just as important—if not more important—to recognize the victories.
The growth, the lessons learned through reflection, and even the moments of disrespect that revealed who truly deserves my energy have all contributed to my journey. I have developed a deeper appreciation for what I have overcome and for the person I am continuously becoming.
Looking back, it has been a beautiful experience to witness my own growth. As I move forward, I am forever grateful for what life has brought me and for what it has yet to bring. My hope is that I remain grounded in gratitude, always recognizing and appreciating the goodness in life and the countless experiences that shape who I am.
