(From my perspective)
There is not any sort of medical research on writers block. What I know I experienced within my own delay were distractions and a sprinkle of imposter syndrome. I wondered whether what I am doing (blogging) is in alignment with this season and version of myself. I had a moment of doubt and worry that I was writing for nothing. I became overwhelmed and doubtful, and lost motivation unexpectedly. I became discouraged because as I was writing papers for school, there was often a lot of negative feedback. A lot of the feedback/comments were primarily around grammar, and cohesiveness. Writing has always been my outlet or form of expression. Could there be ways of improving absolutely, but people knew what I was saying. I had to regain my spark, and it took an extended amount of time. I realized that I needed to find a new routine/system. I was busy to the point I put myself in the back seat again. I was so focused on non-sense it would not let me loose. I started to drop within my consistency because I didn't feel supported. I knew that my story and how I choose to tell it from my perspective is important. I am not a doctor but I am human, I am a person and I had to check-in with myself. I needed time to understand that within this season, I am being called to use my voice.
